We are a bunch of techies that love new tech, especially one that really works and enables small business to connect to other new technologies, the aim being to make people’s working lives better. A couple of years ago when we were running just the computer support part of our business, we became dissatisfied with the state of business broadband; cables in the ground that had been cut through, daily interruptions, lengthy installment times and the general poor service from the normal suppliers.
We recognised that connectivity moved from being an add-on service to a critical function of almost every business. This is certainly true of our IT Support business where remote connection is fundamental to everything we do. Our growing frustration motivated us to start investigating and developing a skill set for this alternative technology.
This technology is not all that new. David, our founder, wrote his dissertation on microwave technology back in the 1980s. What has changed is the price of the technology. During the last decade, the prices of many things have fallen whilst performance and reliability have improved.
Microwave technology has developed mainly because of its use in the offshore Oil and Gas industry, ensuring platforms have uninterrupted contact with their HQ.
Having worked with this technology for the last couple of years and perfected it for ourselves, other people saw us using it and wanted it themselves. We started by supplying Wi-Fibre to companies in our business centre. Local businesses then started to approach us and asked us if we could provide the same for them and we started to develop and improve our local network. We pride ourselves on getting Wi-Fibre‘s delivery right and meeting our business customers’ expectations.
